Campus Planning and Environmental Stewardship at UC Davis
11:10 – 12:00 – General Session 1. Presenter Bob Segar, AVC Campus Planning and Environmental Stewardship
There have been many changes on the campus and more are on the way. Bob Segar, AVC of Campus Planning and Environmental Stewardship will share some of the campus planning initiatives looking forward to the next 10 years and insights into UC Davis’s leadership & sustainability.
Speaker Bio: Robert B. Segar, Assistant Vice Chancellor, Campus Planning and Environmental Stewardship, has directed campus planning at UC Davis for over 25 years, a campus of over 5000 acres and many varied environments from urban to agricultural and environmental reserves. He is a planner and landscape architect, and has guided the university through a major transformation of its physical environment. Bob now directs not only the campus planning function but has operational responsibility for all of the units that directly shape the outdoor environment of the campus, including all units related to the public landscape and transportation and parking.

Change today is more frequent, complex, bigger, faster, and crosses across multiple functions more than ever before. It’s no wonder that change fatigue is more the organizational norm, rather the exception. Understanding change and developing the knowledge and ability to positively engage in and manage change is vital to our individual and organizational success. Join Lisa Terry, Director of UC Davis Organizational Excellence to learn more about the tenets of change and how to be more proactive when managing change. In addition, you will leave with a better understanding of what attributes need to be present for change success.
Speaker Bio: Lisa Terry is a founding member of the Organizational Excellence unit and has served as its Director since 2014. She is passionate about helping others reach their professional goals and thrive in the workplace. Lisa is a certified change management practitioner/trainer and is also certified to teach Crucial Conversations. She serves as a Davis facilitator for the UC Management Development Program and is an active member of the Network for Change and Continuous Innovation in Higher Education (NCCI). Lisa holds a BA in Communication and a Masters in Organization Development. She is adjunct faculty at University of San Francisco.
